Spend a blissful afternoon in a small intimate workshop learning how to a create a stunning small patterned lampshade.

Lampshade making is a simple technique anyone can pick up quickly. It’s such a fantastic way to quickly and easily add a gorgeous handmade feature to your home!

With a strong emphasis on self compassion we will work together to help you unlock all your wonderful creative potential. Making something beautiful with your hands is incredibly soothing; it’s a chance to have some real ‘me’ time, to connect hands and heart, to feel refreshed and to learn something new.

All materials will be provided. We will have a small section of various patterned fabric available to use.

Alternatively you could bring your own fabric! Please make sure your piece of fabric measures at least 22 × 70 cm.

Suitable for everyone from absolute beginners to experienced creatives, we are inclusive and welcoming to all.

About Jess:

Artist and Textile Designer Jess Williams works with an array of well known brands and clients. Providing illustrations and artworks for homewares, fashion and stationery, you can find her patterns and paintings on everything from greetings cards in Marks & Spencer to childrenswear for Nutmeg at Morrissions.

Jess is passionate about the positive mental health benefits of creating art. Her enthusiasm, positivity and real love for hand made art is infectious and sure to bring out the creative potential in any student.

She truly believes everyone has the ability to create beautiful things to uplift, inspire and delight.

Jess has been teaching drawing, painting and printed textiles to students at Birmingham City University since 2012.
